After more than one month of registration, preliminary competition, and trials, the first exhibition of graduation design works of undergraduates of the School of Biomedical Engineering of Shanghai Jiao Tong University was successfully held in the Wenxuan Medical Building of Minhang Campus on June 5, 2021.

With the theme of "Lighting the Future of Diagnosis and Treatment", the event invited Liu Baolin, Dean of the School of Medical Devices and Food, University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, Yu Hongyi, Vice Dean of Shanghai Medical Device Inspection and Research Institute, and Sun Jielin, Vice Dean of Shanghai Jiao Tong University Translational Medicine Research Institute , Tong Yuerong, deputy director of the Student Innovation Center of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Professor Ge Shengfang, Department of Ophthalmology, the Ninth People's Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, Associate Professor Zhou Jie, Department of Anesthesiology, Renji Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, Wang Lihua, Director of Yuyue Medical, and Yuyue Medical Strategy General Manager Zheng Hongzhe, Vice President Shi Ronghua of Medirui Medical, and Xu Guowei, a consultant of Outai Medical, and other experts and scholars from the clinical frontline, academic frontiers, and medical industry as the reviewers. Also attending this exhibition are Ji Bo, Secretary of the Party Committee of the College, Jin Xuejun, Executive Vice Dean, Bai Jingfeng, Vice Dean, Meng Xiangqi, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, and Tong Shanbao, Director of the Teaching and Talent Training Committee.

Secretary Ji Bo delivered a speech for this exhibition. On behalf of the college, he first extended a warm welcome to the guests, experts, instructors, contestants and students present. The exhibition of undergraduate graduation design works held this time is the first in the history of the development of the discipline of biomedical engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. It is an innovative exploration of our college in undergraduate teaching and talent training. He encouraged all graduates to continue to work hard to overcome major human diseases and solve clinical practical needs under the guidance of the school-running philosophy of "medical-industry intersecting, innovative transformation, and internationalization" and under the guidance of the "Healthy China" national strategy.

The successful holding of this exhibition is inseparable from the strong support of cooperative companies. During the event, Secretary Ji Bo expressed his gratitude to the three companies of Yuyue Medical, Medirui Medical and Outai Medical and issued a certificate of appreciation.

In the subsequent public demonstration and defense of outstanding projects, the review experts conducted precise assessments on professional academics, clinical pain points, industrialization, and investment value, and had a lively exchange with the respondent during the questioning session.

After fierce competition, Wang Yuhuan won the first prize, Shen Anruo and Zhang Xinyu won the second prize, and Qiu Lu, Hu Qixin, Zhu Jiang, Bai Yunhui, and Ouyang won the third prize (including the best prototype award). Leaders and guests such as Jin Xuejun, Liu Baolin, Yu Hongyi, Sun Jielin, Tong Yuerong, Ge Shengfang, Shi Ronghua, Zhou Jie, Zheng Hongzhe, Xu Guowei and other leaders presented certificates to the winners.
