Yi SHEN

Biography

Dr. Shen has a primary research interest in the biological effects of nanomaterials. He is particularly interested in the functions of synthetic nanopores that mimic the natural membrane channels with potential applications ranging from biological to non-biological, such as, molecular sensing, water purification. He also works on the development of instruments for mechanical measurement in nano-scale, especially adapting the technologies of magnetic tweezers and atomic force microcopy to measure the cell elasticity and single molecular interactions. He has already published more than ten papers in these fields and holds five patents.
