Biography

Chunfu Zhang obtained his PhD degree in 2002 from Shanghai Institute of Applied Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (ACS). During the next two years, he became Assistant Professor/Associate Professor in Shanghai Institute of Applied Physics of CAS. In 2004, he joined German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) as a guest scientist. In 2007, he conducted postdoctoral study in UT Southwestern Medical Center. He joined the Med-X Research Institute, Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2008. Currently he is Professor in School of Biomedical Engineering, SJTU. His research interests include design of multimodal molecular imaging probes for tumor theranostics and developing novel nuclear medicines for clinical translation. He has developed Fe3O4, MnOX, Au and carbon-based nanoprobes to regulate tumor microenvironment to enhance tumor immunotherapy, radiotherapy, photothermal therapy and photodynamic therapy. Using gold nanoclusters as carrier, he has developed tumor specific targeting radiopharmaceuticals. He has published more than 100 peer-reviewed papers, including Advanced Science, ACS Nano, Cancer Research, Biomaterials, Radiology, Advanced Functional Materials.
