128th Anniversary celebration: Biomedical Engineering Alumni Reunion

On April 6th, Shanghai Jiao Tong University's College of Biomedical Engineering commemorated the university's 128th anniversary with a grand gathering of over a hundred alumni at the Wenxuan Medical Building in the Minhang Campus. 

Distinguished guests, including Academician Chen Yazhu from SJTU Professor Li Yingjie from Shanghai University, Dr. Zhan Zhaoxuan, an alumnus from National Yang-Ming University in Taiwan, and leaders from prominent companies such as Shanghai Langmai Technology Medical Equipment Co., Ltd., Shanghai Aired Biotechnology Co., Ltd., and MicroPort Group, among others. The gathering was attended by members of the leadership team, alumni, faculty, and student representatives. The memorial event was hosted by Party Secretary Chen Jiangping.

Dean Liao Hong'en welcomed the attendees and acknowledged the vital role of alumni in the college's journey. He emphasized the importance of their support and called upon them to contribute to the "Jiahe Building" project, symbolizing the college's growth and development.

During the ceremony, awards were presented to recognize the achievements of both students and faculty.

Gu Han, a representative student awardee, expressed deep appreciation for the alumni's scholarships and pledged to uphold the legacy of excellence set by her predecessors. Teacher Shen Feng, representing the faculty, highlighted the commitment to fostering a spirit of innovation and social responsibility among students.

Zhang Hao, an alumnus and donor representative, shared his experiences and the significance of giving back to the institution that nurtured him. His words resonated with the audience, inspiring a sense of duty towards the continuous advancement of biomedical engineering at SJTU.

The reunion concluded with Secretary Chen Jiangping's remarks, which underscored the alumni's unwavering support for the college and their instrumental role in shaping the future of biomedical engineering at SJTU.
