On May 22, 2021, the "Brain Imaging and Brain Disease Research" academic exchange seminar hosted by the School of Biomedical Engineering of Shanghai Jiao Tong University was grandly held in the Translational Medicine Building on the Minhang Campus of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Sun Lizhen, deputy dean of the Institute of Science and Technology Development of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, academician Yang Guangzhong, dean of the School of Biomedical Engineering and founding dean of the Institute of Medical Robotics, and Jin Xuejun, executive vice dean of the School of Biomedical Engineering, attended the meeting as non-voting delegates.

This academic seminar invited academic experts and young scholar representatives from the headquarters of the Shanghai Jiao Tong University, the medical school and multiple affiliated hospitals to participate in the meeting. Everyone had a warm academic exchange on the topic of brain imaging and brain disease research.

Academician Yang Guangzhong first represented the college and extended a warm welcome to the participating experts. Subsequently, Dean Sun Lizhen delivered a speech. Researcher Yang Zhi from Shanghai Mental Health Center gave a keynote speech at the conference. Professor Li Yao from Shanghai Jiaotong University gave a keynote speech for the conference. Afterwards, nearly a hundred experts, scholars and students participated in the discussion session of the poster. The seminar report and the poster showed the frontier scientific research of brain imaging and brain diseases, and they had a lively exchange and discussion.

Finally, Academician Yang Guangzhong concluded his speech and hoped that through the exchanges of this seminar, everyone can strengthen understanding, fully discuss, condense themes, and focus on cooperation, and lay an important foundation for the further establishment of a brain imaging and brain disease research platform with Shanghai Jiao Tong University's characteristics. Fully condense the excellent engineering research and clinical research advantages of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, deeply promote the "medical-industrial intersection" close cooperation, accelerate the promotion of precise diagnosis and treatment of brain diseases, and benefit patients with brain diseases.
