Couse orientation: This course is the major course for biomedical engineering. In this course, the fundamental principles, key technologies, and related state-of-art progresses and clinical applications in Biomedical photonics will be introduced, including the main principle of physics, optics, and laser in biology and medicine, and the clinical applications.
In this course, the following topics will be covered: molecular spectrum, light emission from biological systems, fluorescence, the design and synthesis of fluorescent probes, the light propagation in tissue, the measurement and simulation of it, laser speckle imaging, diffusive optical imaging, and optical coherent tomography, photoacoustic imaging, tissue spectral imaging, microfluidic chips and cytometry, and the technology and applications of laser therapy.
