BME Faculty and Students Visit Aridian Biotechnology, Jointly Establish Social Practice Base

On August 16, 2022, faculty and students from the School of Biomedical Engineering visited Aridian Biotechnology Co., Ltd. for an exchange and practical activity. The delegation included Deputy Party Secretary Meng Xiangqi, ideological and political counselor Zheng Zhonghao, and ten graduate students.

On the afternoon of August 16, the BME delegation traveled to the Shanghai Caohejing Hi-Tech Park. They first toured the production line of Aridian Biotechnology, guided by Wang Peirui, R&D Director and a 2016 alumna of the BME program.

The delegation also visited Aridian's R&D department, gaining a comprehensive, end-to-end understanding of the development of rapid diagnostic reagents and medical instruments, and acquiring a clearer perspective on cutting-edge technologies and development trends in the industry.

Following the tour, the delegation held an exchange seminar with Aridian Biotechnology. Students shared their research directions and points of interest observed during the visit. Wu Xiaojie, Deputy General Manager of Aridian, introduced the company's current development status and future plans. Zheng Zhonghao presented an overview of the School's recent development and scale, and reported on the progress of four scholarship recipients supported by the Aridian Scholarship.

Subsequently, Deputy Party Secretary Meng Xiangqi and Deputy General Manager Wu Xiaojie held an unveiling ceremony. Meng Xiangqi expressed gratitude to Aridian Biotechnology on behalf of the School, noting the sustained collaboration between the two parties over the years. He expressed the hope that the jointly established social practice base would strengthen students' professional identity and industry awareness, promote high-quality employment for the School, and support the Company's high-quality, rapid development, achieving a win-win outcome.

Through this activity, the School enhanced exchange and cooperation with industry partners, and deepened students' understanding of the integration of industry, academia, and research. The participating students expressed their determination to contribute their knowledge to the development of China's healthcare industry.
