SJTU Medical Device Industry Alumni Association Council Transition Meeting & Medical Device Industrial Transformation Summit Forum Successfully Held

On November 24, 2024, the SJTU Medical Device Industry Alumni Association Council Transition Meeting & Medical Device Industrial Transformation Summit Forum was held at the N100 Lecture Hall of the New Upper House on the Xuhui Campus. Over a hundred alumni attended the meeting, including Minghe Cheng, Member of the SJTU Board of Trustees and Honorary President of the Third Council of the Medical Device Industry Alumni Association; President Hao Zhang; and Executive President Yinghua Zhou.

Also in attendance were Ansheng Zhang, Executive Deputy Director of the SJTU University Affairs Committee; Xiyao Gu, Director of the Alumni Association Office; Yushen Wang, Director of the Development and Liaison Office; Ning Liu, Director of the Dalinghao Bay Office; Hongen Liao, Dean of the School of Biomedical Engineering; Jian Ye and Jianqi Sun, Associate Deans of the School; Chunling Zhu, Deputy Party Secretary of the School; Hongchen Gu, Associate Dean of the MED-X Research Institute; and Xuejun Jin, Executive Director of the National Engineering Research Center for High-End Magnetic Resonance Diagnostic Technology, along with other faculty representatives. The meeting was moderated by Hangdao Li, Secretary-General of the SJTU Medical Device Industry Alumni Association.
Hongen Liao delivered a speech on behalf of the School of Biomedical Engineering, expressing gratitude to the alumni for their long-term support and care for their alma mater. He noted that the School's development and growth are inseparable from the support of its alumni, and expressed his hope that alumni at home and abroad would continue to offer suggestions and contribute to the School's grand development, bringing the wisdom and strength of SJTU people to the cause.

Minghe Cheng delivered a speech. He stated that the industry alumni association serves not only as a bridge for alumni to connect and share experiences, but should also become an important platform for promoting industrial transformation and innovative collaboration among alumni. He expressed his hope to further deepen cooperation with SJTU in the future, jointly explore new models of industry-academia-research collaboration, inject new vitality into alumni's career development, and contribute to the university's research innovation and talent cultivation. At the same time, he called on all alumni to stay connected to their alma mater, actively participate in its construction and development, and write a brighter future for the university with greater enthusiasm and more practical actions.

Yinghua Zhou presented the preparatory work report for the new Council transition and expressed gratitude to the preparatory team of the Industry Alumni Association Council.

Xiyao Gu announced the list of the Third Council members, and Ansheng Zhang presented appointment letters to the new Council members.

Hao Zhang, as the newly elected President, delivered an acceptance speech. He stated that he would join hands with the new Council members, shoulder the glorious mission, actively promote exchanges and cooperation between alumni and their alma mater as well as between alumni and the industry, build a closer and more effective communication bridge, create more development opportunities for alumni, and jointly advance the prosperity of both the Alumni Association and the industry.

Ansheng Zhang delivered a concluding speech. He highly commended the contributions and achievements made by the Medical Device Industry Alumni Association in uniting alumni strength and promoting industry development, congratulated the Association on winning the "Special Contribution Award" for outstanding alumni organizations, and expressed earnest expectations for the Association's future development. He expressed his belief that as alumni continue to deepen their work in interdisciplinary fields such as medical-engineering integration and public health, the Medical Device Industry Alumni Association will surely become a solid force for the university's significant development, injecting new vitality into the university's leapfrog growth.
