From July 15 to July 17, 2020, the 2021 graduate student talent summer camp (hereinafter referred to as the summer camp) of the School of Biomedical Engineering of Shanghai Jiao Tong University was successfully held. In view of the current needs of the prevention and control of the new crown pneumonia epidemic, the summer camp will be online and offline combined form. The purpose of this summer camp is to promote exchanges among outstanding college students in my country’s universities, enhance their understanding of the School of Biomedical Engineering (including Med-X Research Institute) of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, attract outstanding talents to our school for graduate studies, and provide tutors and students a two-way communication platform. After selection, more than 200 outstanding young students who are interested in biomedical engineering research from major universities across the country stood out from nearly 500 students and participated in this summer camp.

In order for the campers to further understand the construction of the college, Professor Ding Xianting introduced our hospital's molecular and nanomedicine platform, and Mr. Wei Xunbin introduced our hospital's equipment and smart diagnosis and treatment platform. Finally, Mr. Bai Jingfeng, the deputy dean of the School of Biomedical Engineering, interpreted the enrollment policy. The teachers’ detailed explanations gave the campers a fuller and more comprehensive understanding of the college.

The summer camp for graduate students is an important way for our school to select outstanding graduate students who are recommended for exemption in 2021. It aims to further expand the influence of the biomedical engineering discipline, attract high-quality students, and effectively improve the quality of students.
