From July 6th to 10th, 2020, the 2nd Shanghai Jiao Tong University Medical Robot Research Institute Summer School was successfully held online on the ZOOM platform. This summer school is hosted by the Medical Robotics Research Institute, attracting a total of 135 postgraduates and senior undergraduates from 8 countries from the world's top universities to attend online lectures. After screening, from Harvard University, Imperial College of Technology, Tsinghua University, Peking University, Johns Hopkins University, University of Manchester, University of Toronto, Zhejiang University, Technical University of Munich, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Royal Institute of Technology, Twin University, Tongji University, Sun Yat-sen University, Xi’an Jiaotong University, Nankai University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Shandong University, South China University of Technology, Southeast University, University of Texas at Dallas, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, etc. 30 students of the second summer school, they were divided into 6 groups to conduct small project seminars and display them online.

During the summer school, it was the first phase of the "Zero Bay Robot Forum". The Zero Bay Robotics Forum is a new academic exchange platform launched by the Medical Robotics Research Institute, which aims to interpret robotic exploration and research in depth and lead the industry's cutting-edge trends. The big forum will be held irregularly every year. The platform includes high-end academic reports, Science Robotics paper interpretation, industry opinions from experts, and industry elite exchanges. On July 10th, the students of the summer school participated in the first phase of the big forum, listened to the report of Professor Yang Guangzhong and Professor Zhang Li, the author of Science Robotics paper, and conducted in-depth discussions and exchanges on the issues in the report.

All teachers and students of this online summer school span time and space, gather in the cloud, learn and discuss intelligent, inclusive, and win-win medical robot technology, exchange in-depth information and knowledge, explore the development path of future research, and fully demonstrate The industry pioneers attached great importance to this summer school, felt the enthusiasm and expectations of young scholars for medical robots, and further promoted the international exchange and development of the Medical Robot Research Institute.
