On June 22, the 2021 undergraduate graduation ceremony and degree award ceremony of the School of Biomedical Engineering was successfully held in the lecture hall of Wenxuan Medical Building. The graduation ceremony invited the academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the honorary dean of the School of Biomedical Engineering, Chen Yazhu, the dean of the School of Biomedical Engineering, Yang Guangzhong, the party secretary Ji Bo, the executive vice president Jin Xuejun, and other party and government leaders, mentor representatives and all graduates to attend the graduation ceremony. The graduation ceremony was presided over by Deputy Dean Bai Jingfeng.

At the beginning of the ceremony, Dean Yang Guangzhong delivered a speech for the graduates. Yang Guangzhong put forward ardent hopes to the graduates from the three aspects of "the accumulation and pursuit of excellence", "based on professionalism and contributing to the cause of human health", and "thinking for the source and moving forward with the spirit of Jiao Tong University".

Afterwards, Academician Chen Yazhu delivered a speech for the ceremony. Chen Yazhu affirmed the dedication and contribution of young teachers in the front line of talent training. At the same time, she deeply reviewed the bits and pieces of her studies and work in Jiao Tong University, and as an old senior, she encouraged graduates to be a person with ideals and convictions, who live up to the country and the great era.

Liu Ping, the mentor representative, reviewed the moments of getting along with the classmates during the work as a class teacher, and sent sincere blessings and expectations to the graduates.

At the degree awarding ceremony, Deputy Dean Bai Jingfeng announced the list of graduates, and the tutor representatives Chen Yazhu, Yang Guangzhong, Jin Xuejun, Gao Weiqiang, Xia Weiliang, Tu Shengxian, and Liu Ping awarded degrees to all graduates.

Among the 2021 graduates, a group of outstanding graduates with outstanding performance in academic research and social services have emerged. Deputy Secretary Meng Xiangqi announced the list of outstanding graduates, and Secretary Ji Bo and Executive Vice President Jin Xuejun presented awards to Shanghai outstanding graduates and Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

The outstanding graduate representative Qiu Lu shared her thoughts about studying in the School of Biomedical Engineering, and expressed her heartfelt gratitude and sincere respect to the teachers on behalf of all graduates.

Subsequently, the appointment ceremony of class directors was held. Vice President Sun Jianqi read out the list of class directors and issued letters of appointment for them.

On the occasion of graduation, the college customized a name-printed bachelor uniform for the students as a graduation gift to the graduates. With gratitude, all 2021 undergraduate graduates also prepared a calligraphy and painting "Peaches and Plums Are All Over the World" to be presented to the college, grateful to the college for its cultivation and bless the college's peaches and plums to be all over the world. Dean Yang Guangzhong and Secretary Ji Bo accepted the gifts on behalf of the college.

At the end, Secretary Ji Bo sent a heartfelt message to the 2021 graduates with five sentences: "Always be grateful", "Brave to bear social responsibility", "Pursue youth dreams", "Realize self-worth", and "Caring for family, country and the world". Secretary Ji Bo hoped that the students will embrace the trend of the times, walk in the same direction with the motherland, fight the middle stream with the passion and courage of young people, and work tirelessly for the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
