On March 5, 2022, SJTU Interdisciplinary Forum for Young Scholars on Biomedical Engineering hosted by the School of Biomedical Engineering was successfully concluded in Xuhui Campus. This forum invited 15 outstanding young scholars and scientists in biomedical engineering field from top universities and research institutions at home and abroad.

Chen Jiangping, Jin Xuejun, Gu Hongchen, Ye Jian, Zhou Shenshen and other 17 school leaders, senior professors, as well as nearly 100 teachers, students and post-doctors online from the School of Biomedical Engineering attended the conference. Chen Jiangping presided over the opening ceremony.

At the opening ceremony of the forum, Chen Jiangping, on behalf of the School of Biomedical Engineering, extended warm welcome to the 15 young scholars and introduced them warmly. He pointed out that in the past ten years, the faculty and students have promoted the discipline construction with the spirit of "dare to be the first and pursue excellence", and formed a harmonious atmosphere in which everyone participates and works together to build a first-class discipline. With the joint efforts of everyone, the School of Biomedical Engineering is vigorous and developing rapidly, and take this forum as an opportunity to exchange ideas and enhance mutual understanding.

Jin Xuejun gave a detailed introduction to the current development of the college from the aspects of school-running scale, discipline construction, teaching staff, scientific research strength, talent training and research philosophy. In the report, he explained the current policy and supporting resources of the school and the university, and pointed out that the School of Biomedical engineering is willing to provide a high-quality platform for young talents to rely on the rich innovative research and clinical transformation resources and concentrate on research.

The forum was divided into two sub-forums, "Medical imaging and Instruments" and "Biology and nanomaterials", which will be moderated by Prof. Gao Weiqiang and Prof. Tu Shengxian respectively.

The Forum aims to establish a free and diversified academic research platform and promote the communication between outstanding young scholars at home and abroad. We will continue to invite outstanding young talents with a better platform, a broader vision, adhere to the core concept of "medical and industrial intersection, internationalization, innovation and transformation", and contribute strength to a healthy China.
