In order to improve the overall quality of courses, espacially undergraduate courses in accordance with the construction goal of first-class courses, The School of Biomedical Engineering of Shanghai Jiao Tong University held an online teaching forum "Make Teaching Design and Teaching Plan for First-class Courses" on March 26, 2022.

Yu Jianbo, who is in charge of first-class courses in the Teaching Affairs Office, was invited to give a lecture in the teaching forum. More than 40 teachers including Chen Jiangping, Jin Xuejun, Bai Jingfeng, attended the forum online, hosted by Guo Yan.

Chen Jiangping emphasized that college attaches great importance to the promotion of teaching quality, which is to cultivate students' key elements, especially in the current outbreak. It is more important to adhere to the student-centered, care for the healthy and comprehensive development of every student. 

Yu Jianbo introduced in detail the basic requirements of first-class course preparation from the setting of course objectives and principle, innovating teaching content, and establishing course evaluation and assessment system.

The teachers who attended the meeting had a new understanding of the first-class curriculum construction and were deeply inspired by Yu's sharing. During the questioning session, they carried out in-depth discussion and found the direction for further improving the quality of courses.

Bai Jingfeng concluded that this teaching forum is of great significance to the overall improvement of teaching level. It is hoped that teachers can improve the quality of courses according to the standards of first-class courses and lay a solid foundation for cultivating first-class talents.
