Project  introduction:

This project aims at the three pain points in the diagnosis and treatment of rectal cancer, namely, whether to achieve pathological complete response after neoadjuvant therapy, whether to achieve pathological complete response after immunotherapy, and whether to perform anus-preserving surgery. Federated learning is used to integrate the full-dimensional data of patients from multiple medical institutions to develop a clinical-level AI system. The project is based on Carnegie Mellon University and Stanford University, and its development has been closely followed and carefully guided by Maximilian Diehn, a world-famous radiation oncologist, and Yang Guangzhong, a member of the Royal Academy of Engineering. At present, it has set up medical AI studios in Silicon Valley and Shanghai, and has carried out in-depth cooperation with many hospitals and cancer research centers at home and abroad. The results of the project have attracted the attention of more than a dozen mainstream media in the world, such as Reuters, Google and CCTV. The core technology achievement article (Nature Communication) has been downloaded nearly ten thousand times; The AI system has achieved excellent results in clinical tests in the Sixth Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, which has been widely praised by the society.
