May 28, 2023 - The 18th "Challenge Cup" Shanghai University Students' Extracurricular Academic and Technological Works Competition successfully came to a close. The competition took place at the Zhongbei Campus of East China Normal University. The project guided by Ye Jian and Lin Li from our institute, titled "Transmission Raman 'Optical Eye': Non-invasive Real-time Precision Detection of Deep In-situ Lesions", distinguished itself in the life sciences track and won the "Grand Prize". This is another gratifying achievement by biomedical engineering students in the field of scientific and technological innovation competitions!

The competition on May 27th was divided into two parts. The morning session was the questioning session, during which team member Wu Zongyu vividly introduced to the judges how the Raman "optical eye" could achieve deep lesion detection. He addressed the questions posed by the judges in detail, gaining their recognition. During the open defense session in the afternoon, Wu Zongyu provided a more detailed introduction to the project background, summary, outcomes, and prospects. His presentation was clear and smooth, with succinct explanations highlighting the project's innovative points and application prospects. Faced with the judges' questions, the team members responded confidently and calmly, engaging in clear and logical discussions with the teachers, earning unanimous approval from the judges.
