Shanghai, February 26, 2024 - The School of Biomedical Engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University convened its strategic meeting for the 2024 spring-summer term on the afternoon of February 26, focusing on academic innovation and development for the upcoming term. The meeting, presided over by Chen Jiangping, Party Secretary of the School, and Liao Hongen, the Dean, as well as the school's leadership team participated this meeting.

Party Secretary Chen Jiangping provided a comprehensive review of the recent developments in the school's academic disciplines, conducted an in-depth analysis of the current situation, and shared insights into the future plans and considerations for the development and construction of disciplines within the School of Biomedical Engineering.

Professor Sun Jianqi, Vice Dean of the School of Biomedical Engineering, delivered a presentation on regulatory science, discussing its developmental journey and emphasizing the innovation in regulatory science assessment and systems.

Professor Lin Guanning presented on the topic of smart healthcare, providing an overview of the current state of smart healthcare development both domestically and internationally, along with insights into the societal service systems of intelligent medicine.

Liao Hongen gave a concluding speech. He expressed agreement with the thoughts, measures, and consensus formed at this meeting and pointed out that focusing on the  transformation and innovation of biology, medicine, intelligence, and engineering science, promoting the development of the School of Biomedical Engineering.
