During the 91st China International Medical Equipment Fair (CMEF), Neusoft Medical and Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) held a grand ceremony to launch the Joint Magnetic Resonance R&D Center at the National Exhibition and Convention Center. Aligning with the vision of "Comprehensive Independent Innovation to Empower Healthy China," the collaboration aims to advance breakthroughs in high-end medical imaging technology and industrial transformation, marking a new chapter in deep integration of industry, academia, research, and clinical practice.  

Convergence of Industry, Academia, and Government to Chart an Innovative Future

The launch ceremony brought together over 100 representatives from SJTU, Neusoft Medical, industry associations, and media. Attendees included Zeng Xiaoqin, Standing Committee Member of the CPC SJTU Committee and Vice President of SJTU; Gui Lin, Executive Dean of the National Institute of Outstanding Engineers; Sheng Xinjun, Dean of the Institute of Advanced Industrial Technology; Kong Lingti, CPC Secretary of the School of Biomedical Engineering; Liao Hongen, Dean of the School of Biomedical Engineering; and Jin Xuejun, Executive Director of the National Engineering Research Center for High-End Magnetic Resonance Diagnosis and Treatment Technology. Joint R&D Center: Three Strategic Pillars to Empower the Industry
Under the agreement, the Joint R&D Center will focus on three core areas:  

1. High-End Technological Breakthroughs: Target key technologies such as ultra-high-speed imaging to overcome international monopolies and elevate the performance of domestically developed MRI systems to world-leading standards.  

2. Industry-Academia-Research-Clinical Collaboration: Establish an end-to-end innovation chain—"basic research, technology development, clinical validation, and industrial application"—by leveraging SJTU’s National Engineering Research Center and Neusoft Medical’s clinical platforms to accelerate the translation of scientific achievements.  

3. Elite Talent Cultivation: Develop high-end professionals with innovative thinking and engineering capabilities through a "university curriculum + corporate training + clinical practice" model, creating a benchmark for integrated talent development.  

The strategic partnership between Neusoft Medical and Shanghai Jiao Tong University signifies a joint commitment to building a new MRI ecosystem under national strategic guidance. Anchored by the Joint R&D Center, both parties will concentrate on high-end equipment R&D, clinical innovation, and talent cultivation, striving to establish a holistic ecosystem encompassing "technological innovation, industrial upgrading, and healthcare services."
