Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Biomedical Engineering Visits Partner Universities in Singapore

To further enhance the School's collaboration with world-renowned universities and broaden students' international perspectives and competitiveness, a delegation from the School of Biomedical Engineering (BME), Shanghai Jiao Tong University, led by Assistant Dean Professor Zheng Guoyan, visited Singapore from July 8 to 11, 2025. The delegation engaged with Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and the National University of Singapore (NUS).
On July 9th, the BME delegation was warmly received by Nanyang Technological University. Both sides held in-depth discussions on research collaboration and talent cultivation. Key topics included a jointly drafted dual-degree program agreement, with detailed discussions on credit transfer and thesis defense procedures.
Following the meeting, the BME delegation visited the School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology. Discussions focused on potential research partnerships and curriculum development, with both parties agreeing to deepen cooperation in cutting-edge research, innovation, and entrepreneurship. The delegation also toured NTU laboratories and shared research facilities.

It ranks highly in multiple disciplines globally and hosts several world-leading research centers, including the Singapore Earth Observatory, the Nanyang Environment & Water Research Institute, and the Energy Research Institute. On July 10th, the BME delegation visited the National University of Singapore (NUS). Associate Professor Xu Min, Deputy Director of the SJTU Singapore Research Institute, extended a warm welcome. Both sides conducted in-depth discussions on the joint application for recent international collaborative projects and the implementation of research outcomes.
