University of Glasgow Delegation Visits School of Biomedical Engineering

On July 15-16, 2025, a delegation from the University of Glasgow, UK, visited the School of Biomedical Engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU). The two sides held in-depth discussions on scientific research collaboration and talent cultivation, focusing particularly on establishing a research seed fund and joint training programs.

Professor Ye Jian, Associate Dean of the School, and Professor Zheng Guoyan, Assistant Dean, warmly received the delegation. The guests were given a tour of key facilities including the Translational Medicine Building, Wenxuan Medical Building, Archives and Museum, and the Bay Valley Global Innovation Hub. The hosts introduced the School's educational philosophy, operational achievements, and development plans, emphasizing research collaboration, innovation translation, and talent development.

The visit featured the inaugural Sino-UK Bilateral Symposium. Seven distinguished scholars from both universities presented their research in areas such as Surface-Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy, AI in Medical Imaging, and Intelligent Assessment of Behavioral and Cognitive Disorders. Faculty members and students actively participated in the academic exchange.


Both institutions agreed to establish comprehensive and in-depth collaborative relations spanning scientific research, student exchange programs, and joint training initiatives.
