At noon on January 16th, the School of Biomedical Engineering of Shanghai Jiao Tong University grandly held the 2025 Annual Commendation Conference and Spring Festival Celebration at the Minhang Campus. More than 100 faculty and staff of the school, including Party Secretary Kong Lingti and Dean Liao Hong'en, participated in the event. The scene was filled with a warm atmosphere and frequent highlights.

The event kicked off warmly with the annual review video "2025 Memories of Biomedical Engineering". Dean Liao Hong'en delivered a New Year speech, in which he fully affirmed the school's remarkable achievements and innovative breakthroughs in various works in 2025, expressed sincere gratitude to all faculty and staff for their hard work and silent dedication, and wished everyone career prosperity and a fulfilling life in the new year. Fu Yaoyao, Deputy Party Secretary of the school, hosted the sessions of introducing newly recruited teachers and commending outstanding teachers of the year. The dean and party secretary presented flowers to the teachers who had made outstanding performances in teaching, scientific and technological innovation, personnel management, Party building and other fields in 2025, extending their sincere thanks. Subsequently, Party Secretary Kong Lingti sent Spring Festival greetings to all teachers, hoping that all faculty and staff of the school would take the 130th anniversary of SJTU and the 15th anniversary of the school's establishment as an opportunity to continue to maintain the enthusiasm for struggle and jointly write a new chapter in the development of the School of Biomedical Engineering.

The event also specially invited Zhou Shenshen, Party Secretary of Zhiyuan College, to "return to her alma mater (BME)". Secretary Zhou reviewed her more than ten years of work experience in BME, expressed her pride as a "BME person" and her best wishes for the future development of the school. The school prepared a souvenir for Secretary Zhou to thank her for her outstanding contributions to the construction and development of the school.

With joyful and festive music, the event entered the Spring Festival gala session. The hilarious cross-talk skit (sanju ban), fascinating bamboo flute performance, warm and pleasant group birthday party, blessings for those born in the Year of the Horse, and exciting interactive games all aroused great enthusiasm among the audience, filling the venue with laughter. The event came to a successful conclusion in a joyful and peaceful atmosphere.

2026 is the first year of the "15th Five-Year Plan" and a crucial period for the rapid development of various works of the school. All faculty and staff will uphold the spirit of "daring to be pioneers and pursuing excellence", adopt a more high-spirited fighting spirit and a more pragmatic work style, focus on connotative development, continuously overcome difficulties, and deepen reform and innovation, so as to contribute their efforts to the high-quality development of the school during the 15th Five-Year Plan period and the construction of SJTU into a world-class university.
