From December 14th to 16th, 2020, the Academic Forum of Institute of Medical Robotics, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, was held simultaneously in the Translational Medicine Building and the online ZOOM platform on the Minhang campus of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Academic masters, well-known experts, young scholars and business elites from all over the world went to the academic event to showcase the latest research progress and achievements in the field of medical robots, and to discuss technical challenges and development trends in the field of medical robots.

On the morning of December 15, the International Academic Forum of the Institute of Medical Robotics held the opening ceremony and the opening ceremony of the second and third phases in the Translational Medicine Building. The ceremony was presided over by Chen Weidong, Executive Vice President of the Medical Robot Research Institute. Zhang Ansheng, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Wu Bin, Member of the Standing Committee of the Minhang District Committee and Deputy District Mayor, attended the opening ceremony of the forum and delivered speeches. Lin Yi, Director of Minhang District Economic Committee, Li Li, Director of Science and Technology Committee, Yu Jianyuan, Chairman of Nanbinjiang Investment Development Co., Ltd., Xu Yayun, General Manager of Nanbinjiang Company and Chairman of Nanxie Robot Company, Wu Xingxian, Executive Deputy General Manager of Minhang Real Estate (Group) Co., Ltd., and Department leaders, professors, doctors and students from relevant departments of Shanghai Jiao Tong University attended the opening ceremony.

The annual Shanghai Jiao Tong University Institute of Medical Robotics International Academic Forum is hosted by the Institute of Medical Robotics. It aims to promote collaborative innovation among governments, academic institutions, hospitals and enterprises, and promote international academic exchanges and cooperation in the field of medical robotics. This forum is the third international academic forum. For the first time, it adopts the dual-line holding mode of the whole process of online and offline synchronization, attracting nearly 600 online registrations, and the average number of online online people in each forum exceeds 100.
