Education background

Jianqi Sun‌ is a Professor and Ph.D. Supervisor in the School of Biomedical Engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU). He obtained his B.S. and Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from SJTU (1999–2008). After completing his doctoral studies, he joined the Med-X Research Institute at SJTU. From 2012 to 2013, he completed postdoctoral research at the Paul Scherrer Institute in Switzerland.

Dr. Sun currently serves as the principal investigator or co-investigator for multiple national and provincial research projects, including those funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), the National Key R&D Program, and the Shanghai Science and Technology Commission. As a core member of the National 973 Program, his research focuses on early cancer diagnosis, minimally invasive therapies, and the development of multimodal medical devices and intelligent biomedical imaging technologies.

His work has been recognized with prestigious awards, including the Ministry of Education’s Natural Science Award (Second Prize) and the Shanghai Anticancer Association Award (First Prize). He has authored over 60 peer-reviewed publications and holds 15 patents in medical device and imaging technologies.
