Biography

Jian Ye received his B.E. degree in 2000 and M.S. degree in 2003 from Zhejiang University and Ph.D. degree in 2010 from KU Leuven. 2003-2005, he was at Intel Products (Shanghai) Ltd. as a material engineer. 2010-2013, he was a senior researcher and Postdoctoral Fellow in imec vzw (Belgium) supported by Research Foundation of Flanders (FWO). In 2011, Dr. Ye was with Prof. Naomi Halas at Rice University as a visiting scholar. He joined Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) in 2013 and was promoted as a full professor in 2018. Since 2020, he has been the vice dean of the School of Biomedical Engineering in SJTU. Dr. Ye has received a number of awards including Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Self-Financed Students Abroad (2009), Outstanding Youth Fund from Chinese National Natural Science Foundation (2016) and Journal of Materials Chemistry B 2020 Emerging Investigators. His research interests include biomedical applications of plasmonic nanostructures and surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy. He has published over 78 peer-reviewed papers in international journals including Nature Communications, Nano Letters, ACS Nano, Small and Biomaterials.
