Qiuning Lin is an Associate Professor at the School of Biomedical Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University. She received a doctoral degree in Applied Chemistry from East China University of Science and Technology (ECUST) in 2013. For more than 10 years, Dr Lin’s research has been focused on the area of polymer materials and their biomedical applications. She has developed a light-induced in situ and non-free radical crosslinking technology. The hydrogel prepared via this strategy exhibited excellent biocompatibility and variability and has shown potential as scaffold for the tissue regeneration. In addition, she has also developed a light-induced drug release technology in which the drug was released from the carrier only within tumor microenvironment and under light excitation, so that the cancer cells are selectively killed without damaging to the normal cells. Dr Lin’s research has received diverse attentions from both academia and industry. To data, she has published over 50 scientific papers including Adv. Mater., J. Am. Chem. Soc. and Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., applied over 10 Chinese and World patents, and has received project grants from National Natural Science Foundation of China and Shanghai government.
